Design Technology

"The main aim of Industrial Arts at Trident is to equip learners with essential critical thinking skills required to identify needs and ways to improve on existing products and practices in the Design Industry."

The curriculum is divided into four main content areas, which are: Product Design, Graphic Products, Resistant Materials and Systems and Control. Product Design focuses on identifying needs or requirements for technological improvements; Graphic Products aims to equip learners with formal Engineering Drawing skills for effective and accurate design in all spheres of Engineering; the Resistant Material component is geared towards Material Property identification and manipulation, for example Shaping, Joining techniques and Finishing; Systems and Control covers essential knowledge regarding Structures, Mechanisms and Electronics. Our curriculum is based on the Cambridge International Curriculum, and is geared towards preparing learners for either Trade studies or Engineering.
