Music

Trident College Music Department strives to reach learners’ individual and collective potential through study and performance of music in an effort to form a solid foundation for future development.

We are proud to be a center for the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music; the world’s largest and most prestigious music examining body. All our music students have to go through the ABRSM syllabus and all Year 9s need to reach a minimum Level - Grade 3 ABRSM music theory, which is a prerequisite for entry into the Year 10, IGCSE music. We also offer music at IGCSE, A and AS levels. ABRSM theory exams take place every March and October and the practical exams, every June, for which examiners from the UK come and conduct. We are proud to have achieved a 100% pass rate in various instruments since inception in 2013.

Our school choir and orchestra is steadily increasing in number each year. We perform at various events including assemblies, chapel services and we are really proud to have been honoured to play at the inauguration of the Solwezi City Mall in November 2016

As part of our department we offer a music academy, with various teachers from both within the school and outside. Musicians will offer vocal and instrumental tuition at a fee. In the future we look forward to offering a music scholarships for deserving students.
